A short history
EMBA was founded in 1954 in the city of Örebro, Sweden. Ever since EMBA has played an important role on the international arena of corrugated board conversion. Noting a few milestones in our history will shed some light on why:

1954 AB Emballagemaskiner is founded.
1962

Model UVZ-RTZThe introduction of the EMBA Flexo-Gluer, model UVZ-RTZ. A breakthrough putting the EMBA name on everybody's lips in the corrugated industry of the world.
1964 Sunds AB (later Sunds Defibrator AB) acquires AB Emballagemaskiner. A massive quantity of knowledge is available to and incorporated in the now named Sund EMBA.
1968 The introduction of the first EMBA Flexo-Folder-Gluer (FFG), model 240.
1977 The introduction of the first EMBA Mini FFG 140, later to be followd by the FFG 160 (1983).
1978 The introduction of the EMBA Jumbo FFG 360, 400 and 450 - three novelties that stunned the corrugated industry at the time.
1985 The introduction of the EMBA FFG 290, a sophisticated machine that made our product range even more complete.
1987

EMBA FFG 244The introduction of the EMBA FFG 244, the new flag ship in our product range.
1988 Berg Industries AB acquires Sund Emba AB, adding competence and know-how.
1994 The introduction of the EMBA RDD™ Printer with the latest technology in converting.
1994 A subsidiary is founded in Germany, The EMBA Vertriebs GmbH, in Schwalbach, near Frankfurt Am Main. Now named EMBA Trading GmbH.
1995 Another subsidiary, the EMBA Machinary, Inc, is founded in Duluth, near Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
1995 We change our name from Sund Emba AB to EMBA Machinery AB.
1997 The introduction of the EMBA FFG 170, a machine based on the well reputed EMBA FFG 160.
1997 In December Corpart, Germany is acquired completing the EMBA product range with Rotary Die Cutters. The company name is now changed to EMBA Machinery GmbH.
1998 The introduction of the EMBA FFG 245 Quick Set™, a machine for the new millennium.
2000 The introduction of the EMBA QSD™ - a revolution in die-cutting
machinery.
2002 A subsidiary is founded in Milano, Italy - EMBA Machinery S.r.l.
2004 The introduction of the EMBA Comfort programme - added value services for the aftermarket.
2004 50 years of serving the corrugated industry.
2005 Acquisition of McKinley Machinery Inc. in Avon, Ohio, USA
2007 The introduction of the EMBA 245 QS Ultima™ with EMBAs patented Non-Crush Converting™ technology.
2008 40 years with EMBA Flexo Folder Gluers.
