The crew of Steven Cartwright, Dean Hopkins, Pierre Sassine, Silvio Mannini and Darren Kozul pushed their machine to
the incredible record on 19 October 2006 by producing 164,406 boxes during a shift of 10.85 open hours with 50 order changes.
EMBA had great pleasure in presenting the first award of this type to the crew in recognition of their achievement.
Electrical supervisor, Paul Ellis and mechanical supervisor, Paul Livori deserve recognition in this achievement too, as
they worked hard to make certain that the machine was in top condition for the run.
The group photo shows the winning team with Team Leader, Steven Cartwright holding the plaque and supported
by Maintenance Manager Matthew Trezise, Technical Manager Carlo Rovis and Shift Manager Richard Konsul. Unfortunately,
Dean Hopkins could not be present for the award ceremony.Without the behind-the-scenes motivation by Factory Manager Fazzil Noureddine,
the record production and resultant award would not have been possible.
The Century Club was first established in the year 1995 with the aim of providing motivation and incentive for crews that are
new to EMBA machines to quickly learn to correctly, safely and efficiently operate their machine as a team. Over the years, many
crews have taken up the challenge and fulfilled the criteria of membership, which indicates the success of the club goals and
the popularity of the challenge.
By setting the bar higher with the new Platinum Century Club, EMBA have thrown down the challenge to operators
around the world to exceed their previous best fi gures. Visy Board, Coolaroo took up the challenge and proved they could do it on
their 4-colour FFG 170 QS with die cutter.
The machine has the latest Quick Set capability with automatic caliper adjustment and vacuum assisted folding. It is calibrated
for a top speed of 440 boxes per minute and on-the-run stereo changing enables very short stop times between jobs, maximizing
the time in production. The criteria for Century and Platinum
Century Club membership can be found on the EMBA web site at www.emba.com. Remember the club motto “Shortest Stop
Time Wins” and see if you can reach the production targets set to become a member of this prestigious group. |
